Cranfield Biotechnology Centre (CBC) was established in 2003 in the Cranfield Health, Cranfield University. The area of expertise of CCST includes chemistry, computational design of functional and "smart" materials, including molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) and their application in separation, sensing and drug development.

The main objective of CBC is the development of world class polymer science aimed at replacement of unstable natural receptors with synthetic biomimetic materials. CBC is working on fundamental studies of all factors which affect performance of synthetic receptors and their integration into sensor devices. As a result, CBC has a good track record of the publications and patents, presentations at international conferences and academic and industrial projects.
